Adorable wolf dog wanders into dog-lover's house, requests pets and invites himself to stay for dinner

Howdy friends, and a very happy Sunday to you all! We've all heard the story of Little Red Riding Hood, right? Well, if you haven't, we'll give you the short version: Grandma became a little senile, left her door open, and a wolf came right in and ate her. The wolf then put on Grandma's clothes, and waited for her granddaughter, Little Red Riding Hood, to show up and eat her as well. Luckily, a random hunter was able to save Little Red Riding Hood from her grandmother's fate. Thank goodness he happened to be in the neighborhood!

Well, in today's story, one dog-lover left the door to their house open, and what walked in….but a wolf-dog! This wild derpy doggo seems very tame, if you ask us, so we think it might actually be the poster's pet, but we can't know fur sure. Anyway, the wolf-dog invited himself to stay for dinner and seemed pawfectly happy accepting some ear scratches, we just think this doggo devotee might want to have a hunter on speed dial, just in case.

  • We can confirm, this wolf doggo is extremely friend-shaped. Almost too friend-shaped. Maybe he looks so sweet an innocent because he's planning to gobble us up later. However, if that's how we're going to go, at least we got to pet this glorious, majestic fur baby first.

Being the child that I was, I promptly tossed my bookbag and went into the weeds and muck after said puppy. Took a bit of chasing, and a couple sets of teeth marks in my arms, but I finally caught it and got it settled

    down enough to cart it home by the scruff. It was a bit skittish, but settled down quick enough. Now understand that a) we did not have a native wolf population and b) both my parents grew up on farms and routinely gave dewormer/puppy shots without the need to haul the critters to the vet. So she didn't see a vet until she was about six

    months old- a lanky husky/shepherd mix with a long snout and comically overlarge ears and paws. Vet walks into the exam room, does a double take. Persuades Mom to do a DNA test... comes back something like 75% eastern gray wolf, with trace amounts of husky, German shepherd and something else. And that is how I ended up the thirteen year old owner of a high content wolf hybrid.

  • Sure, we joke about having a wolf-dog, but they are a lot of work. They're not like your everyday house dogs that just want to please you, they have very strong instincts and are a challenge to work with. It sounds fun, but also a nightmare.
